First there was The Simpsons and The Critic. Then there was The Simpsons and Family Guy. And now... Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers.
I’m watching Velocity (car-centric cable channel) and just saw this promo for the new season of CCC. I’d love to see Wayne Carini try to out-haggle Mike Brewer.
“C’mon, ‘old out your ‘and. Don’t be an idiot.”

Wheeler dealer is super tall.
And i think he could do all the show himself. His partner doesnt do anything but the easy part. And he sucks at negociating prices.

I love watching both these shows. Chasing Classic Cars is a refreshingly honest car show, too. I can’t stand these other car shows like “Counting Cars”, “Graveyard Carz” and what not. Way too fake, those. Wayne seems like a genuine guy who is passionate about cars and out to make a buck but not at the expense of others.

he’s 6’7” , apparently .
and the cynic in me thinks all those “negotiations” are discussed, agreed upon, scripted (or all three) before the segment is filmed, for desired
dramatic
effect.

I concur! I can’t stand the same shows you mentioned above.
Regarding CCC, sometimes it’s entertaining to watch Wayne because he’s obviously not an experienced host/showbiz type, like in the episode when he went to Kuwait and was so uncomfortably American.

There are some quite good car shows on these days. I watched one yesterday called The Classic Car Show with Quentin Wilson and Jodie Kidd on Channel 5 here in the U.K. Apparently its been on since february but I only came across it yesterday when they looked at the new and old Fiat 500 while Jodie drives a 1968 Camaro on Route 66.

Edd China is frickin’ tall. That’s part of the gag about Mike bringing back small cars that he’s too large to fit into!

I find graveyard ok like an early OCC. Counting cars makes we want to punch my TV.

I love his passion for people. And his love for the odd cars and the ones he grew up with. He understands sentimental value.

All the Discovery-BBC America car stuff seems to be crossing over. I’ve seen Mike and Edd with Richard Rawlings on Twitter when the 2 of them were in the US. Pretty cool, I like both shows so that’s neat.

Ah, cool - thanks for recommending. I don’t think we get that show here in the states but it looks worth looking for! Or maybe it hasn’t passed my radar...
(Hey, it’s Magnus Walker and his 911)

Its a good show. Different structure to how many shows presented. A nice breath of fresh air really.
Some are on Youtube.

Graveyard isn’t that bad, but it really feels like it’s totally not trying to be a good show. It’s like everyone looked at other car shows and is just trying to half-assedly copy them. I appreciate the MOPAR focus and the head guy does seem to really know his stuff.

Exactly! Wayne is a true Jalop! He loves a huge variety of cars and understands that appreciation and love for cars is a complex and multifaceted element.

One of my most memorable moments from CCC was when Wayne went to Concours Pebble Beach and won a BMW 3 series for his entry, but instead of being there to collect it he was out on some nice back roads driving/enjoying a car he had failed to find a seller for on his visit to Cali. I’ll admit that could have been editing trickery but I love to imagine it was real.

I remember that one. Wasn't Jay Leno the one who announced his name as the winning person?

Good question. I, too, am seriously considering quitting cable so I've got to start planning ahead!

Yes, Jay couldn’t pronounce Wayne’s last name properly.
